Roos coach scott fumes after 'disgusting' loss to pies and pies Read more
"It is not something I think you can just let happen," he added.
"It is an unfortunate circumstance to be involved with a situation like this but I would also like to say there was no reason why we should lose the game and now that we know what have happened, I can't imagine what we were going to have with this team."
The former captain, who will retire from football at the end of the season, admitted he felt "surprised" by the fact the club could afford to make the announcement on Sunday.
"I had a view like that about the club," he said. "I couldn't believe the extent that you could spend. There wasn't even any thought around [from Roos] about putting their hand up, it was very obvious.
"I was surprised about the amount of money. I thought it was probably going to be about three-quarters of a million. I thought you'd be able to spend on player-related things, but they were playing with players of different clubs [who were] not the players they wanted to spend on. It just made me furious, thinking 'how do we make our kids happy?'"
Kangaroo manager Rob Goldstein is also furious about the way the club has handled the situation. "There have been all sorts of excuses for a couple of seasons now, from the media, players that want to be away from the club. They're not talking about our own players and our players have put in a lot of work to try and come back here. That has been a massive problem, which is what I really blame the Roos.
"It's like [the club] can't let go of the money they've spent over the last couple of years. We've only got so many players left and they're playing a different system at the moment. You can see the results.
"I've never worked for the club before but I've been there for six years now. I've seen the amount of money they've invested in this side, it's amazing. I don't think I could see how that is sustainable for five years for them.
"I would have loved to have been there in that moment back at the end. It was a bit ridiculous because I didn't see the end coming. I am so disappointed in our club. I feel for the players."
He would have preferred to have won the game, but he added: "I think we had to play our hearts out. It was definitely a very competitive game. I thought we should have won the game."
Goldstein acknowledged the financial situation that has taken the Roos out of the competition at home and int

I wonder if they will try to do another series of "The Road to the End" before wrapping up with some more "Romeo & Juliet" stuff? It's got great humor. The two-part series I saw had a lot more "mild" humour but a ton of drama (so much that I thought they were trying to set themselves up for some kind of big upset). I really enjoy that bit of the series too - especially the finale when Juliet and the others are taken away in handcuffs. They weren't allowed to be with the audience, they were being transported to Rome. Really cool. Nice way of showing how much it did shock me that they didn't get to see Juliet on the flight out. Not sure what, maybe the series was a bit rushed since they couldn't do all of the jokes. But you know... I guess we'll see. February 29 2014, 11:01 pm

I guess they will probably write yet another "The Road to the End." But maybe I'm seeing things wrong. Yes, I guess we will continue to see the characters from the original series. You have a right to be mad at the decision to have Juliet and the others stay. It is a really fun show and I love the fact that it has grown so much over the years. I know I was expecting the first time and that my expectations would be met. Maybe I'll wait and see what series comes next. February 29 2014, 12:07 pm

What's the difference between the two series? How can I find the one on the air and the one the movies?

What are the differences between the books (if I remember right) and the show? I'm curious, since a lot of people seem to like these books more.
Well, I like them both a lot more, but I do think the show has an unfair advantage in that it's already been done before and is the least expensive TV series that they have. I think that's partly the show's success. Maybe it also has a more serious and gritty element to it? February 29 2014, 12:56 pm

How about the movie? What's the difference? The show is obviously very entertaining, and it's easier to make out the show's main characters in the movie, and more relatable. I don't see any of the "goodguy" stuff coming across very well in this one. I don't think that much of the story has changed, either, though. Februar
